Jesus Is Alive Ministries (JIAM) is a ministry that is dedicated to doing the work for God. We are determined to spread the Word of God, win souls for the kingdom of God, and show the love of God through our actions. We endeavor to be used as God’s extended hands to the people.
Jesus Is Alive Ministries was formed by Janis F. Byrd on June 1, 1996, in her home. God had spoken to Sis. Byrd: “When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.” (Luke 14:12-14) The ministry was commissioned by God and began by delivering hot meals to the homeless on the streets of Chicago.
Later, the ministry began to have yearly times of consecration for its members, which were later open to anyone with the desire to attend. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Sis. Byrd began to write Christian plays. These plays were performed and directed by members of various churches and ministry members. The ministry also began to travel to Pennsylvania to perform these plays.
In 2000 God directed Sis. Byrd to prepare the basement of her home to have weekly services. In January 2001, “I AM’S” Holiness Church was birthed. The church was housed in Pastor Byrd’s home for approximately two years, when God spoke to Pastor Byrd to move to the east side. Pastor Byrd found a small storefront and moved the church to that location in Chicago. The church grew gradually, and within a few more years, the Lord instructed Pastor Byrd to move the church to Gary, IN. (our current location).
Called by God to be a well-rounded ministry, Jesus Is Alive Ministries is a place where the Holy Spirit called to Christ's souls who were rejected, bound and hurt. Jesus Is Alive Ministries is their sanctuary for deliverance, healing, restoration and maturity. We reach out to people of all races, backgrounds and even other faiths. All are accepted and given the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The ministry is now a division of “I AM’s” Holiness Church. The ministry encompasses: Helping Hands Outreach Ministry, Fruit of the Womb Youth Ministry, and Can You See What I’m Saying Performance Ministry.
We give God all the glory for using Jesus Is Alive Ministries as a vessel to reconcile souls unto His Son, and we press towards unbinding worship and obedience to Jesus Christ, to whom we give all power, glory and honor. We pray that Jesus Is Alive Ministries continues to be a place of refuge, deliverance and exhortation that inspires the believer and reaches the lost.

Worship Ministries
“Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” (Psalm 29:2, NKJV)
It is such a privilege to be able to give unto God our love and adoration through song and dance, to see God bring liberty to those who are bound, to seek His will through intercession and proclaim His heart through prophecy, and show forth His glory through the Word.
Dance Ministry
“Let them praise his name in the dance… || And we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace…” (Ps 149:3; John 1:14)
“I AM’S” embraces the ministry of dance. This ministry encourages our members to allow their creative juices to flow gracefully to edify and uplift the people of God.
Deliverance Ministry
“Shake thyself from the dust; arise… loose thyself from the bands of thy neck…” (Isa 52:2)
This dynamic ministry is designed to help bring deliverance to all those who struggle with the weighty issues in their lives. We have been mandated to help those who have ungodly spirits that need to be addressed.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
“Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thess 5:17)
This ministry empowers the church through prayer. They cover the pastor, ministerial staff and church members in prayer daily. They bombard the sanctuary with a prayer, setting the atmosphere before every worship. The prayer warriors meet every Sunday afternoon.
Prophetic Ministry
“And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.” (Ezek 33:33)
“I AM’S” believes in the prophetic word. This ministry operates under the direction of the Holy Ghost in the utterance of the prophetic word. As in the word of God, the prophetic is not always a glowing word, but will also, at times, be a word of rebuke to the church so that the church can flow in the path in which God wants it to go.
Teaching Ministry
“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.” (Deut 4:2)
This ministry teaches the pure Word of God, adding nothing to it, nor taking anything away from it. This ministry includes all of our teaching classes (leadership training, financial responsibility, how to be a servant of God, maintaining your integrity, purposeful living, etc.), which are Bible-based classes.
Fellowship Ministries
“And they continued steadfast in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. “And they continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house . . .”
(Acts 2:42,46a)
This ministry is designed to love, edify, support and encourage other churches/ministries and our community, “till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” We have embarked on a mission to show ourselves friendly that we may have friends. Therefore One Sunday morning of each quarter we have fellowship visitation Sunday. We close our doors and fellowship with another church being kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love.
Youth Ministry
This ministry is designed to help children live Godly lives. We have various activities (outings, shut-ins and performing) during the year to keep our youth enlightened and connected. We try to include our youth in our outreach projects.

Men’s Ministry
“And he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.”
(Gen 4:26)
This ministry consists of Godly men who are not ashamed to call upon the name of the Lord. It creates a strong bond of brotherhood and solidarity among Christian men. It enhances each brother’s spiritual growth through fellowship and communication with one another. The young men are mentored and trained to be respectful gentlemen and to understand their position as men of God in the Body of Christ, at home, on the job, and in their community. All men are trained to worship God in the beauty of Holiness.
Women’s Ministry
“Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
(Matt 16:18)
This ministry is designed to train our young women to be chaste and discrete women of God, conquering all our fears, and prevailing against the enemy. We are overcomers who love and serve God with a pure heart.

Counseling Ministry
“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”

This ministry is dedicated to counseling under the direction of the Holy Ghost. All counselors are honorable and knowledgeable in the Word of God, giving Godly advice. They are also confidential and trustworthy.
Divine Resources Ministry
DIVINE RESOURCES MINISTRY
“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Cor. 9:8 NIV)
PURPOSE: This ministry is designed to be helping hands to the birthing process of other ministries and/or churches. Starting a ministry and /or church can be a daunting task that we may feel ill equipped to start or complete. Encouragement is something we all need to keep us motivated, loves, and feeling confident in ourselves and what we do.
When our ministry (Jesus Is Alive Ministries) was in the birthing process we did not receive any assistance from our Christian brothers and sisters. The work to birth the ministry was long, hard and tedious. This weighed heavily on the heart of our leader, therefore this ministry was formed to assist the birthing process of other ministries/churches.
We endeavor to share what we have learned in the process that will make your transition into ministry an experience that will bring you comfort and joy.
The birthing process is one of the first steps in answering the call of God on your life. We will encourage, motivate, support and love you through the process. We will call you with encouraging words motivating you to keep moving forward with the process. We want you to know that we believe in you and what God has called you to do.
We also endeavor to assist you in helping to supply some of the needs to birth your ministry/church. We endeavor to supply one time financial (i.e. paying fees associated with filing your paperwork for the ministry/church, paid directly to the appropriate entity) We will also supply limited support with items needed to do ministry work, (items to be purchased at store or place where items are available) based on our available resources at the time.

A division of Jesus Is Alive Ministries
This is our outreach program which extends helping hands to those in need through donations and physical labor. Through this program we feed the homeless, help those in need, have clothing and food drives for shelters, perform for senior citizens, etc. Our outreach program is held twice per year.
PERFORMING ARTS
CAN YOU SEE WHAT I’M SAYING MINISTRY
A division of Jesus Is Alive Ministries which writes and performs Christian plays that are a visual aid to enlighten people about the word of God. All current plays have been written by our president under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). All plays are based on the word of God. Plays are performed in full costume complete with scenery, props and sound effects.
Upon request we will come to your church to direct and assist your members in performing any of our plays. Cast members will consist of your church membership. If need be we will provide additional cast members. Plays can also be performed by this ministry upon request. The length of a performance is approximately one to two hours (depending on which play is being performed). Plays are available for performance at any location.
